Specimen Requirements

  • Nasal swab or Nasopharyngeal swab
  • Specimens should be collected according to standard technique and placed into a dry conical collection tube.
  • Specimen collection kits are available in the Laboratory - Call the Laboratory, ext 4060.

Storage/Stability

Specimen can be stored at 15-30 C up to two hours or 2-8 C up to 24 hours prior to testing.

Reject Due To

Specimen will not be accepted if storage and stability requirements are exceeded.
