Specimen Requirements
- Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s).
- Spin down and send 4 mL of EDTA plasma.
- Forward promptly.
- If there is a delay in transport of >4 hours, spin down, separate plasma from cells, and freeze specimen immediately in a plastic vial.
- Send specimen frozen.

- Severe hemolysis
- Severe lipemia
