Useful For
- Useful for evaluation of patients suspected of having systemic scleroderma (SS).
- Anti-Scl-70 antibodies are found in 20-40% of SSc patients and in up to 70% of patients with diffuse cutaneous SSc and they are associated with severe disease progression.
- Although reported in other pathologies, especially in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), anti-Scl-70 antibodies are a useful marker for the diagnosis of SSc.

- Draw blood in a serum gel tube(s).
- Spin down and send 0.5 mL (pediatric: 0.2 mL) of serum frozen in plastic vial.
