Specimen Requirements
- Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of draw.
- Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s), and send 1 mL of EDTA whole blood.
- Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.
- If there is a delay in transport of ≥24 hours, prepare fresh, peripheral blood smear and forward the EDTA tube refrigerated and the slide at ambient temperature only.
