Specimen Requirements

Draw a full, green-top (lithium heparin) tube.
Send 5 mL of unprocessed lithium heparin whole blood.
Lithium heparin tube must be properly filled.
Immediately after draw invert several times to mix blood.
Do not centrifuge.
Forward unprocessed whole blood promptly.
