Methodology
Billings Clinic: Indirect Sandwich Immunoassay
Mayo: Real-Time Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR)
(PCR is utilized pursuant to a license agreement with Roche Molecular Systems, Inc.)
Specimen Requirements
Serum should be physically separated from cells as soon as possible with a maximum limit of two hours from the time of collection.
- Draw blood in a serum gel tube(s).
- Spin down and send 2-3 mL of serum frozen in plastic vial.
- Draw date is required on request form for processing.
Reject Due To
- Heat-inactivated specimen
- Grossly hemolyzed specimen
