Specimen Requirements
Collection kits must be distributed to patients through Clinic Blood Draw.
- Place supplied collection paper inside toilet bowl on top of water.
- Deposit stool specimen on top of collection paper.
- Collect specimen from stool before paper sinks and stool specimen touches water. Scrape surface of specimen with specimen probe, insert probe into bottle and snap green cap on tightly.
- Flush. Collection paper is biodegradable and will not harm septic systems.
- Label bottle with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
- Return specimen bottle to laboratory in envelope provided.
- Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.
