Specimen Requirements

  • Cord blood specimen drawn from patient at delivery or blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) MICROTAINER® drawn from baby.
  • Do not centrifuge.
  • All specimens must be completely labeled in accordance with the American Association of Blood Banks’ (AABB) requirements.
  • Include mother’s first and last name, medical record numbers, and blood type on specimen.
