Agglutination
Includes tularemia antibody due to cross reactivity.
Specimen Requirements
- Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s).
- Spin down and send 1 mL of serum refrigerated.
- Both acute and convalescent specimens are recommended.
- Acute specimen should be drawn during onset of illness and convalescent should be drawn 2 weeks post acute.
- Label specimen appropriately (acute or convalescent).
Reference Values
- Negative to a titer of 1:40 which may be noted in normal population
- A 4-fold or greater rise in paired serum titer indicates recent infection.
