Methodology

Flourescence In-Situ Hybridization (FISH)

Specimen Requirements

  •      Do not centrifuge
  • Send sample refrigerated. Use a refrigerated cold pack for transport.
  • Make sure cold pack is not in direct contact with the specimen.
  • DO NOT FREEZE 

Submit 1 or both of the following specimens:

 

Bone Marrow

Send 2 - 3 mL of bone marrow aspirate in a sodium heparin tube (green top - no gel).

 

Whole Blood

Send 5 - 6 mL of peripheral blood in a sodium heparin tube (green top - no gel).

Reference Values

An interpretive report will be provided.
