Useful For
CEBPA mutations are found in 10-18% of acute myeloid leukemia normal karyotype cases, and in about 40% of AML with 9q deletion occurring within a non-complex karyotype (AML_NK).
Methodology

Specimen Requirements
- Do not centrifuge
- Send sample refrigerated. Use a refrigerated cold pack for transport.
- Make sure cold pack is not in direct contact with the specimen.
- DO NOT FREEZE
Submit 1 or both of the following specimens:
Bone Marrow
Send 2 - 3 mL of bone marrow aspirate in an EDTA tube (purple top).
Whole Blood
Send 2 - 3 mL of peripheral blood in an EDTA tube (purple top).
Reference Values
An interpretive report will be provided.
