Specimen Requirements
- Do not centrifuge
- Send sample refrigerated. Use a refrigerated cold pack for transport.
- Make sure cold pack is not in direct contact with the specimen.
- DO NOT FREEZE
Submit 1 or both of the following specimens:
Bone Marrow
- Send 2 - 3 mL of bone marrow aspirate in a sodium heparin (green top - no gel)
Whole Blood
- Send 5 - 6 mL of peripheral blood in a sodium heparin (green top - no gel).
Reference Values
An interpretive report will be provided.
