Test Code Billings Clinic: 9668 Mayo: FIGER Immunoglobulin E (IgE) Receptor Antibody, Serum
Performing Laboratory
National Jewish Health
Useful For
- The test detects functional autoantibodies to the Fc-epsilon receptor (high affinity IgE receptor) or to IgE and is useful in the evaluation of chronic urticaria.
- In the presence of antibody to the FceR1, basophils degranulate resulting in the increased expression of a specific basophil marker. The expression of this marker is determined after incubation of susceptible donor basophils with serum from the patient.
Methodology
Flow Cytometry
